    Cool Dendrobium Chao Phaya Blue

This plant spans over seven feet as the p-bulbs go every which way. Ah well, it is one of my best bloomers. The flowers are a very dark blue/purple, but it's very hard to get the pictures to show how dark they are. The second dendrobium came with a tag that only reads dendrobium...arrrrgggghhhh. And I put a pic of my Encyclia Belizensis that has six spikes. It is times like these I wish I was a member of the orchid society in town! lol Ah well...

I cannot wait for the encyclia to bloom....patience is difficult when it comes to my flowers.

Lovely dendrobium! And that encyclia looks nice too...the one encyclia I have looks pretty ugly in comparison. It went outdoors into super bright light a little too quickly.

Beautiful blue dendrobiums. Yes blues are really difficult to photograph.

You can tell from the leaves on the dendrobiums, I keep these in very high sunlight. There is only a few afternoon hours that they are completely shaded by the overhang on the house. My Encyclia hang with the Vanda in the summertime so they get a little extra water and double the normal fertilizer treatments. Well and my back yard has great air flow which makes the heat and sun levels a little easier for them all to handle. The Encyclia seem to adore it out back, I have the largest p-bulbs on them this year. We seem to have just about the perfect conditions for them here.

Yes they are! lol I've only got one picture where these were shown their true dark color. I couldn't find it when I posted this originally, but I stumbled across them finally today.

As you can see the flowers are very dark. The sunlight makes them look much lighter in pictures.
