    Eric,

    Your plant is var. roxo-violeta.

    The aço variety has a more grayish violet hue and therefor the color isn't bright like the normal roxo-violeta color rather a bit dull.
    The word aço means steel and steel is gray.
    In general it's difficult to draw a line in between the varieties specially in between the roxo-violet and the aço variety.
    Nowadays everybody crossing the best plants from one variety with plants from an other variety we get consequently many different shades in between the standard colors of each variety.

    agreed! been wanting this one from my first days of orchidoholicism.... every weekend i walk past one of the most amazing sellers in the market and i look at his selection but i know im not the best cat/l person so i just drool and keep walking... one day... it's simply astonishing
