    Goeff,

    You bought a seedling!

    The parents are C. purpurata var. rosa cereja (Which doesn't exist. Probably made up by the grower) and C. purpurata var. carnea

    The carnea variety and the rosa cereja colors are very similar. Rosa cereja is a slightly faded carnea color.

    Now your plant is a species type color on the light side. Some growers would it classify as a rosea variety. Choose one. Unfortunately the genetic of the carnea color wasn't strong enough. And the gens of further back ancestors dominate.

    You can change the name to Cattleya purpurata. For smart orchid grower it was always a mystery why this species was first classified as Laelia and then an even greater mystery to classify it as a Sophronitis. This species belong to the Cattleya group for many reasons.
