Default another forum of Vanda coerulea

...another forum of Vanda coerulea. Selfings from a collected plant. They were hybridized here in Florida by Mr. Byrd, many years ago. Divisions from large, old plants. They take the Florida heat without any problems.
    ...and that should have FORM!
The first photo are of the two siblings together. Both out of the same flask. Quite different in size, color and tessellation.

Absolutely stunning both of them! I have this in a glass vase and so far nothing!! I wish I could get mine to bloom like these two. I prefer the darker one as the tessellations are more obvious and I like a showy orchid! lovely!

beautiful! i love the darker one. i've never seen a coerulea flower in person yet, cannot wait until mine blooms. i like these twisty petal ones, there is a certain grace to them that the more flat 'improved' strains lack.

I usually prefer spots over tessellated coloring, but this is a beauty, very nice

If you look at the petals on the Vanda in question (and many other Vandas for that matter) you will see those blue almost box like lines that form a mosaic pattern wlth the white coloration. That is tessellated.........................AL
