Here seen growing in a 4 1/4 inch pot ; 47 flowers and a few buds. I see that when it got its award at an AOS judging meeting, at Venice, Florida, in 1990, it was shown with "only" 29 flowers... so there , yah, boo... It has a nice scent, is easy to grow, and gets better, year by year. ( even gives me a few props from keikis, from time-to-time.
I took it to Bournemouth Orchid Society last night - the judges gave it a thumbs down, didn't even get a joint third ( and if I had been judging, many of the ones which did get thirds, seconds and first would not have been in the reckoning at all...) but that's judging . Who cares. I love my plant , and wouldn't give twopence for some of the hybrid phallies which did win. It only makes it easier to be sniffy about judging generally.

Geoff, the fl÷owers of your plant, looks quite big, as for Dendr. moniliforme. Tell me please how big they are and if they are long flowering. In China, you can find Dendr. wilsonii, which is very similar to Dendr. moniliform, for sure belong to this group, but the flowers are much bigger so. 5 cm across and bloom just few days. For Kew Garden Dendr. wilsonii is just a synonym to Dendr. moniliforma, but nevertheless I would l÷ike to compare my moniliforme with your plant.

Hi Mietek. Natural spread is 4cm , by which I mean measuring the flower, tip to tip, without trying to flatten it out. They are fairly long lasting by the way - I'm hopinf the plant will be good for our Autumn Show in two weeks time.
