I agree with the Aerides name. The Orchid Register list it as "both', Aerides & Vanda.
The Kew list of monocots have it as "Vanda", the board of trutees & one other strike again. Sure think the board should be dealt with........
TQVM everyone..Actually, I bought this one as Aerides flabellata. Only when posted to other forum, admin asked to change the name as Vanda since they follow Kew. Thanks to Roy, now I know there are other body that govern the name other than Kew, or is it more than 2? My personal preference - Aerides flabellata though. So how do I change the title?
I doubt you can change it back to Aerides unless you can find some Botanists & Taxonimists to test & agree that it should be. It would then have to pass the RHS Board members to achieve it, good luck with both, might be easier to snow ski in Egypt.
I will always think of this aerides. I don't care what Kew says. Beautiful blooms and wonderful photos.
