Default Portrait of Rlc. Mahina Yahiro 'Ulii'

This plant does not deserve all the work that has gone into making it somewhat presentable, photographically, anyway. It's past its prime; I wasn't able to stake it early enough for it to grow properly; and I didn't arrange the blooms so that they could spread out in the proper shape. Of course, part of it is that this particular Mahina Yahiro seems to want to have a semi-closed shape anyway.

Regardless, here it is, after about 3 hours of Phillip taking the photos and me editing, in all its pink floofy glory. This is a monster plant - probably 3 or 4 divisions when it finishes blooming. Anyone who wants it can pm me. I'm done with it!

I think the light pink looks lovely and little imperfections are just part of nature. I like your bloom a lot.

Ulii actually is a much floofier variety than the normal clones, since it is semi peloric, with the large labellum like petals. The weight of the petals makes them fall forward. Nonetheless it is a beautiful flower.

Thanks, Amey! You know, I'm not sure that 'Ulii' has won any awards at all. I wonder why they're so ubiquitous....
