    Default Dendrobium Carol Goo

This plant was a gift from someone who was repatriating, and this is the first time it has bloomed for me.
Unfortunately the 2 spikes have come from the crown or apex of the cane. Is this a bad sign?

Beautiful blooms! I love the color and shape. I have Dendrobiums that get the spike at the top of the cane too. It sounds normal and perfectly fine to me. It will not stop the growth of the plant since the new canes will come from the bottom of the old ones.

Gorgeous dendrobium! The spike coming from the center is fine. It is only cause for concern in monopodials.

Ohhhh, I like that one ... LOTS! I have a weakness for antelope-type dendrobiums Angela, but just like those mule ear oncidiums you grow so well, these dendrobiums hate my growing conditions.

My goodness, that is gorgeous Angela! One of my antelopes is getting ready to bloom, and now I'm not nearly as excited, as mine pales in comparison! Thanks a lot. lol
