    Thanks for posting this information. I was wondering what your orchid really was. I remember trying to find it on OrchidWiz. It's so seldom that you can find out for sure. You were lucky that the vendor had that information. Are you sure you need to divide it? With big specimen orchids like that, I like to just gently remove them from the old pot (I often break the pot to get it out) and just place the whole thing in a larger pot with a little fresh medium around it. I find that dividing orchids really sets them back. Whatever you decide, Good Luck!

    That is a lovely plant-- I would be reluctant to divide it.

    I'm leaning toward just "potting it up" - I'll need to get a 10" pot to do that!

    Thanks, Bruce and Zain - y'all on OT have convinced me to pot it up instead of repotting. So that's where it will go when it's done blooming. I just realized a day or two ago that it actually has a really nice scent - frosting on the cake!!!
