Default The Saga of Cattleya Portia

A year ago (9/9/11) I posted a pic. of this Catt. and after doing some searching myself I went away beleiving that it was indeed Catt. Portia.
Recently there was a post by Maura of a beautifull Catt. Identified as Catt. Portia. The two plants IMHO do not seem to be the same. Granted, Hybrids can have some variations, but to me, the colour and the markings on thes two flowers seem to be way off.
I am sorry that the quality of my flowers are not the best. The Thrips have had their dinner.
My plant is bifoliate, and usually produces several spikes with 8-12 flowers.
    Any comments would be appreciated.

The first name that comes to my mind when I see this photo is Cattlianthe Molly Tyler. It is a old hybrid with equal dosages of Guarianthe bowringiana, Cattleya purpurata, Cattleya dowiana and Cattleya percivaliana, it very big bifoliate pseudobulbs.

How pretty, though! I like the yellow markings in the throat.

Georgeous! I totally agree with the above...while bugs have had their snack, the flowers are still amazingly beautiful!

this is my 2 cents, and probably what it's worth, when I looked at photo first thing I thought of was laelia influence, I looked and there are some bifoliates, very pretty, any fragrance?

Lovely blooms. I really prefer it over Portia. Hope you find the name because I would love to have one.

Thanks. Yes this bloom does have a fragrance. Though not one that I particularly like.
