Her colors are absolutely stunning...you can't miss her when you walk in the door of my house. She's extremely fragrant and the scent reminds me of Easter...like lilies, daffodils, and hyacinths all together in one flower. I stuff my nose in her face several times a day (not to mention everyone else's noses who walk in my front door), and she hasn't complained once. What a great gal! LOL

I have to admit I wasn't a big Cattleya fan in the beginning. All the floufy stuff just wasn't my cup of tea. I naturally tend to gravitate toward the more bizarre-looking species phals...but when this gal opened her flowers, she stole my heart. Oh, and she's a compact grower, too, so she fits perfectly on top of my piano, right next to my favorite picture of my kids.

I now understand why people go so crazy for Cattleyas. I finally GET it! This little darling has done the impossible: she's turned me into a "Catt" person!

Nice flowering. You'll need to change the label from Cattleya, its actually a Rhyntonleya.(Rly.)
    Broughtonia x Cattleya x Rhyncholaelia.

Congrats on a really beautiful Catt. Jenn, I am glad you have discovered the joys of the Cattleya.

@Roy, what are they going to do with diehards like me who Just can't get it with all those complicated new names?????

Hehee...I'm confused too! LOL I even checked the internet before I posted this thread to make sure the name was correct and I saw it listed on many sites as a Cattleya. Where does one go to find the "official" current names of plants, anyway? Any insight, Roy?

I guess I'll be changing the tag on another one of my orchids...*sigh* Although changing this doesn't bother me nearly as much as the fact that Doritis is now Phalaenopsis. That just seems completely wacky. I refuse to change my tags from Doritis to Phalaenopsis. My Doritis Pulcherrima var Chumpornensis is NOT a Phal...I don't care what anyone says.

Oh, who am I kidding? I'm too picky about my tags to leave them "wrong" for long...I'm going to have to change them. Ah, well...maybe next week. All this name-changing makes my head hurt.

Thanks for letting me know, Roy!
