Wow, that is a lovely bloom and I love the color combination.
A lovely bloom...
Is it fragrant ?
Have you seen Pot. Roy's Magic ?
Pretty blooming! And excellent photo also! Do you grow under sunlight or artifial lights?
Thank you so much! I grow under glass- in a conservatory (glasshouse attached to the house)... it is square in plan, the roof and two side walls are glass (any more glass, and the Summer temperatures would be very difficult to keep down). It is kept cool in the warm months with white shading, but the cattleyas hang high from the roof where there is a lot of filtered light. In the dark cold months there is no shading: we need all the sunlight to come in directly and keep things warm. That way you can live with your plants, but provide better conditions than if they were right in the house with you.
The photo was taken inside, on a table against a white wall, using three flashes firing together from different angles to balance the light.
Together with Rlc. Toshi Aoki 'Pizzaz' the most beautiful yellow/red orchid I can imagine.
Good growing from your side.
