I will always have a soft spot for this hybrid as it was among the 5 orchids that I started out with 38 years ago. For me it always seemed to wait about 3 years between blooms, then flower on 3 - 5 growths at once. Spectacular. Sadly, it simply 'disappeared' during a move to a new apartment in my college years. If someone walked off with it they must have been strong, fast and stealthy to carry off a 37 growth Catt in a 14" terra cotta pot without being noticed. Thanks for posting.

As mean a thing as it was to steal - you have to think about who on earth would WANT a specimen-sized Catt.? So sory to hear about that - I would have been heartbroken.

I'm loving this! The light on the petals/sepals(?) is making me crave the ocean. It may be a strange parallel, but I am imagining sunlight viewed from beneath gently undulating water.

I forgot to mention, it was in bud at the time. Someone knew enough to recognize it was about to put on quite a show, but that was a very long time ago. I hardly ever cry about it anymore.
