    Default Lc Tsen Wen Beauty

To me the most attractive cattelya at the 20 WOC was not in the competition proper but at one of the stalls of the Taiwanese vendors. Taking pride of place at the vendor's display table was this gorgeous specimen plant of Lc Tsen Wen Beauty. I have been looking for one since and only recently located a vendor who had a few BS plants for sale. 3 months at my place and I'm rewarded with the first bloom of 2 flowers. You can't possibly imagine how pleased I am with this first time bloom. I am also posting a picture I took of the plant at the 20 WOC in Singapore. The blooms are not big, about 3 3/4 inches across. I like the clean yellow of the sepals without any spillover from the purplish red of the petals.

That's a spectacular flower. That's exciting that you managed to find the plant after seeing it at the show. I'm intrigued with Asian orchid growing. I've browsed pictures of orchids at Asian shows and they always seem to have a lot more flowers than plants at shows in the US. I've searched the internet and I've been unable to find anything about how they manage to grow such spectacular specimens. One speaker at out Orchid Society did have a little information about how they grow large phalaenopsis but I've found nothing on their culture techniques for cattleyas.
