Cool Blc. Memoria Grant Eichler 'Lennette'

One of my floofies opened a couple days ago...it smells as good as it looks. I'm so in love with the cattleya lately.

Great combination of complementary colors. I love the pics. Do you remember what the settings were on your camera?

I looked up the 2nd picture's properties...full natural sunlight outside, no flash
    F/5.6, exposure 1/60 sec., ISO-125, 0 step, 35mm, 4.7max aperature, 52 focal length
    and the first picture was...
    f/4.5, 1/60 sec, ISO-400, 0 step, 18mm, 3.6 max aperature, 27 focal length

I use the setting sun to light up the second picture, while the first was taken mid afternoon under the shadow of another plant. I try to use natural sunlight as much as possible as you don't get as many cast shadows on the flower. When the sun is setting you can get a much different color or "attitude" to the plant. I hope this helped... Oh, I should mention my camera is a dslr, so I pretty much point and shoot. I use different lenses occasionally for tiny flowers, so other than adjusting the focus I don't do much past framing the shot and pushing the button. The information for f stop, aperature, etc is saved in the photo's information. I go into the folder, click on the picture and look at it's properties, details tag. All the information is there for you....otherwise I would not have had a clue! lol

Connie, Connie! Such a delight, this one! Big, bold and beautiful. I like the GENEROUS ruffling, and the pale edging that makes it sing! And it is scented, you say. What a great plant!

Thank you...what a great way to describe the beauty of that flower. I appreciate everyone's nice comments too. I feel so blessed to be able to share my orchids on the website and see other's beautiful orchids as well. Thanks again to Bruce for his efforts to keep this website up and running!
