Okay, it's fully opened - at least the first blossom. The 2nd is almost all the way open, it has pushed the first bloom into a bit of an off shape, but still lovely. The first blossom is 7.5" tall and 6" wide.

Here is the C. intermedia var cerulea - the flowers have a bit of a green flush to them, but the flash washed it out.

Here is the Blc. Mac Holmes - it looks warped because, well because it is warped - the buds came out very tight together, bottom to bottom. So the first to open is being pushed out of shape by the second bloom, which is still in bud. definitely a disappointment..

The Tainon City General has 3 buds in sheath and is coming right along. The Rugleys Mill is still in tight sheath with a tiny bud showing.

I really like the Mac Holmes, too--even if they are a little pushed together. It's gorgeous!

Those all look fantastic-I would not be too disappointed w/ the Mac Holmes, it's still pretty nice! I am so excited that the first of all the catts I've purchased, a small Lc. Hwa Yuan Angel (that's what was on the tag, it seems short) from TJ's has a bud-Yay! this will be my first reblooming (it was in bloom when I purchased it earlier in the summer, the one & only cattleya alliance I've ever seen at TJ's (although I have lots of dendrobiums from there). Diane, I want you to know I LOVE all the plants you've passed along to me, I've moved some of them to PrimeAgra pebbles (to see if I can control my chronic overwatering), they're in a sunny south window & all appear to be adjusting quite nicely-thanks again, I can't wait to see some bloom!...Thistle/Linda (who's enjoying what feels like the first fall day around here)
