Thanks to everyone for the compliments! Maura, that has got to be one of the nicest things anyone could of said to me. What you said made my day! Shane unfortunately my horticultural physician has forbidden this orchid from traveling, but if some day it is up to the long voyage your place in Taiwan will be the 'spot' it goes to! I do admit to becoming quite possessive of this Renanthera lately. AL

These types of orchids can be grown hanging from a basket or mounted on it; but it requires full sunlight in growing season. It can also grow in warm temperature. If the orchid is suspended in basket; then the roots must be watered frequently.

I really like that flower. The plant looks a bit like a Vanda. Is it related, and does it grow under the same type of conditions?

I believe Taylor that it is a Vandaceous Type orchid. It grows warm and likes plenty of water and fertilizer, though not daily or more watering as with Vandas, Ascocendas, Aerides, Rynchostylis, etc. AL
