Very nice Maura. It seems to be a smaller grower than the one I posted. I love the color or is that the camera ??
My piece is starting to get a go on so hopefully more flowers this year.

Thanks, Roy - it may well be a smaller grower than yours. As for the color - I'm extremely scrupulous about color accuracy and will note when the color I managed to get deviates from what I see. A lot depends, as I've said in the past, on the light. and I've had to work with available light here in Florida. I shoot about 100-200 shots of each orchid I bloom, primarily to ensure color accuracy. When I photo-edit, I do so with the plant next to me, and rarely edit much more than cropping, cloning out irrelevant distractions, and raising shadows. So, no - the color is not because of the camera (a Nikon D300, using in this case, a 60mm Nikon prime lens).

100 - 200 pics, wow, 3 or 4 is enough for me. You got shares in a camera company ??
I check the camera view & go from there.

    ACK!!! ACK!!! MUST...HAVE...THIS....

BRAIN SHORT-CIRCUITING FROM OVER-ABUNDANCE OF GORGEOUSNESS...

MUST. GET.... MUST. GET. NOW. ....

Maura, I think you need to be my personal orchid buying consultant.... I try to never miss your posts because more often than not, I find I NEED TO HAVE whatever plant you are featuring! (Have I mentioned that my tillandsia coerulea arrived two days ago? It's a beauty! No flower yet, but I imagine that will come in time.)

Gorgeously photographed orchid you have there. As a photographer, I very much appreciate your attention to true color reproduction. Whenever I see something online that's in the "blues," I'm always wary of buying it just based on the photo, because often cameras interpret color much differently than the human eye does, especially if the photographer is using 'auto' white balance. So thanks for taking the time to show us the true color!! For me, it seals the deal on this plant! I'm buying one for sure!!!

Ooh, yay! Ooh, yay!!! Soooooo excited about this one!!!

Photography is another one of my obsessions - so, being a Type-A personality anyway, the two things kind of augment each other - and with digital photography, you can take an infinite number of photos without any extra cost - I'm VERY careful when I get ready to print on my art-printer, though - THAT's expensive.
