This cattleya has been growing on my shelves for a couple years. I bought it at near blooming size. This is it's first bloooming and it threw six buds off of two p-bulbs. The flowers are nice and large and as they get older they are turning pure white. When they first opened they were a pale green/yellow.
Very Nice Rich
Nice color change.
I like it this pure white green.
Are you aware that many orchid specialists are telling that this plant is a hybrid and not a species.
I'm growing hundreds of C. intermedias and I did see thousands.
And I have to agree that this plant and specially the flower have several characteristics which didn't match with the characteristics of the C. intermedia species.
Anyway you did a great job to grow it in to a beautiful healthy plant. And the flowers despite the circumstances are beautiful.
Connie it is very pretty. Some think that an error was made, as Horst notes. You wouldn't have to capitalize the "I" just note that the 'Pine Knot' clone is most likely not the species that it is listed as but a hybrid.
