Default The first of my mounted orchids to bloom.

I just started mounting orchids six months ago. I have some orchids I bought on mounts but Rlc. Lisa Taylor Gallis 'Nora' is the first one I mounted myself that has bloomed. It's a little compact cattleya with flowers just under 4". I was amazed at how fast it attached itself to the cork slab. I took the ties off six weeks after mounting it.

I'm always intimidated by the whole "mounting" thing. I feel like I'd be learning how to culture orchids all over again from square one! I did, however, purchase my first mounted orchid the other day... a Dendrobium bellatulum... but Dends tend to be really hardy for me, so hopefully I won't kill it! LOL I would be WAAAAAAY out of my comfort zone trying to mount a Catt.

And I noticed you didn't wrap any sphag around the roots to hold in moisture (my bellatulum came with a blob of sphag over the roots)... how often do you need to mist/soak this little guy to keep him happy with the roots completely exposed like that? Is it in a greenhouse?

Thanks for answering questions for us mounting newbies....
