It’s Cattleya intermedia var. coerulea. It has about 25 flowers. Natural spread of 7.5cm.

I am thinking of driving 100 miles to have it judged. Do you think it’s worth an award? I don’t want to waste two hours driving for this. What’s your opinion? Please help.

Do it. Why not? And even if it doesn't win an award, the experience of entering the show and participating is always a learning one. Best of luck!

    cheers,

Such a beautiful specimen. Not going would always leave me wondering and sometimes the only way to learn is to experience the event. Either way you'll be more knowledgeable than before.

Your C. intermedia is a winner!
The flower shape, the color, the amount of flowers and the healthy plant, all excellent.
    I wouldn't think twice!
