Forgive my impatience - it's going to have 14 spikes, maybe not quite all open at once, but certainly a lot , but....I guess I wanted to show you how clever I am, or better, how much this plant loves what I am doing ( I wish they all did...sometimes I think its just luck) , and I am going into hospital again tomorrow for operation number 4 on the same eye in another attempt to save some sight at least, and after that I may not be able to take pics for a while ( or drive, or fly, or do anything much except die of boredom ).
But that back story is why I am showing it now, rather than waiting until more flowers are open. If I can, I'll take more pics as it develops, and post, but that may not be possible.

Here in UK we have what may be a big orchid show coming up in just over 4 weeks, and I am hoping for great things from this plant; regrettably I shall not be visiting the show, 150 miles is too far for my wife to drive, or, that soon, myself . But my plants will be on my Society's display, providing I can do the cleaning up, tying up, and packing for them to collect, so hopefully it will be there.
Incidentally this plant was part of my entry at our Autumn (Fall) show last year, in September, and won the Dendrobium cup with 3 spikes, and was also in our Spring Show in February this year with a measly ( as it now seems) single spike.
Don't bother to ask what is my favourite orchid, this week !

Impressive, Geoff! Should be quite a glorious sight to behold when in full bloom.

Sorry to hear of your needing another operation. May it go well.

You have another gorgeous plant and if it goes to be judged i'm sure it will bring home a nice big ribbon! I am sorry to hear you are having another surgery, you sound as bad as me. Recuperation is the tough part. I hope you will make sure your wife lets us know how you are. Rest up and we will all keep you in our prayers. Hopefully before you know it everything will be back to normal.
