    Cool Brassolaelia Helen

This is a cross between Brassavola digbyana and Laelia tenebrosa. The flowers are large and have a nice scent in the evenings. It also goes by the name, Rhyncholaeliacattleya Helen.

Too bad more of digbyana's "fringiness" doesn't come through in its hybrids. It does add a bit of a different look to the lip. Seem to be seeing more digbyana crosses these days.

I forgot to mention, the 4th photo is from when the flower was first opening. Some days when it is very hot the flower will look like that as well. Thanks for everyone's complements, this plant is one of my favorites.

    Wonderful primary hybrid.
I always wish to see more flowers on a plant like this, but the Brassavola digbyana influence is very strong and therefor very seldom to get more than one flower.

This one had given me two lovely large flowers last year so I was a little let down it only gave one this year. Maybe next year...
