Lucky you, Ed.
I acquired my ascocendas, I watered, i fussed, I neglected. They died anyway. The roots just began to dry up. And the fat lady began to sing.
However, my ascocendas did not die right away. The leaves were not burnt. They thrived for one to two years, with lovely blooms, before they died. And that unidentified red vandaceous I just posted, Ed suspects it to be an ascocenda. That has been under the sun with the semi-teretes for about a decade now. But I'll take your advice and try planting it in a shadier spot if I get another ascocenda.
Please see my thread An Orange Ascocenda noid.
Such a bright and cheerful orchid bloom. LOVE it!
