    Cool Dendrobium Sonia

This one lost it's tag a long time ago...but luckily when I began going through old pics I found the name. The original plant went bad and I raised this one from a small keikei that grew off a rotting cane.

I can see now why I worked so hard back then to save it. lol Our local nursery gets some of the prettiest dendrobiums. I need to go...she should have some killer dendrobiums in bloom about now.

that's cool that you got a last keiki, and got it all the way to blooming. quite a leap in growth there, the blooming one is huge compared to the rest.

Dendrobiums are one of the easiest and most rewarding plants to grow here in Florida. When they are young you think they will never bloom. Then all of a sudden you get a medium one that blooms a few flowers and next time the pbulb is huge and tall. Rich gave me a few small dendrobiums when he was moving up north and I enjoyed watching them go through each phase. I thought this was one of those until I ran across the old tag and pictures this week. I have a lot of dendrobiums. I love the graceful canes of flowers...

Pretty! And this is from an orchid that went bad? (I just keep picturing an orchid joining a gang and striking out into the underworld leaving behind this innocent little beauty.)
