superb blue. to me that color is the most striking amongst the catts, despite the subtlety.

Thanks you all for the lovely comments!!! I have a big collection of floofs and you guys know what happen when you have a lot of floof ... Hehehehee
It looks like everyone has his/her own personal favorite. Maybe I can use that as a gauge to each one's personality.
Tim, that giant nodosa is a good one. Someday, I just cut a division, sterilize it with some rubbing alcohol, wrap it in towel and mail it to you. You can mount it. It would do very well that way.
Julie, a trick Catt department, eh? Well, there are two trick catts in this post, the RM hybrid and the floofy ear catt that switches the ear every time it blooms, hhehehhehe!!!
Bruce and Jason, that blue catt is really nice. The blue coloration is quite intense for a blue catt on this one. The plant is quite compact as well.
Diane, well, I think your plants will do super. They are healthy with lot of bulbs and growths. We will see the result in a few months.

    Cheers. Hoa.

awww... thank you very much for the offer, Hoa. But, I think I will have to enjoy this vicariously through you. Our Quarantine laws are so strict that even with all the right documentation, the plant still needs to go through fumigation and 3 months of quarantine that it's chance of survival is pretty low...

again, thank you for the offer!

just gave me an idea... maybe I can go via California in 2008 to visit you and Diane...

    Yes, Sake!

The color change is very characteristic of Bl. Richard Mueller crosses. Sue taught me this! Blc. Rustic Spots is Bl. Richard Mueller x C. Landate.

It's quite cool, because the change isn't a minor - it happens in a big way within several days after opening. The first time my NOID mini-Catt opened, I thought I was going to have green flowers. They ended up morphing to a brilliant yellow-orange. Also with a slight fragrance. It's budding now, so photos to come soon!

    Do you have Rustic Spots?

    Julie

The Bl. Richard Mueller x C. Landate is indeed Blc. Rustic Spots. It has very sweet fragrance though, but only during early morning hours. By noon, there is nuthin' and nuthin'. I have the Landate, in fact, I posted it earlier. Very beautiful and strong fragrance during the day from morning all the way until late afternoon. The RM has origin in B. nodosa which is fragrant at night. So a compromise is that it is fragrant during early morning hours ONLY !!! So funny how things work out, huh?

Default Lc. Hong-Sie Chen 'Kao Hsiung Beauty'

Well, I have more floofs for y'all!!!

In the previous set, we have seen the bloom from the plant Lc. Chiou Jye Chen 'Fong San #1'. It turns out that this spelling might not be correct for the name of that grex. The problem is that we are trying to denote chinese phonetics into latin-sounding words. A possible variation in the phonetic transcribing would give us the name, Lc. Hong-Sie Chen. I just realize that because I have another clone of the same grex in bloom! The flower from this clone develops normally and we got the chance to see a vibrant and giant floof. Very pretty! This style of catt blooms, we can describe it as something like 'white with lavender mask'.

    Cheers. Hoa.
