    Hi KC C,
Thanks for the kind words!!! Droolworthy certainly will enter my vocabulary arsenal! Hehehheeee ...

    Hi McJulie,

Sorry that you had to deal with the cat's arse and the computer keyboard at the same time! hehheheeee ... I guess that is how they show their affection ... Actually it was not the Lycaste, it is Maxillaria grandiflora. It looks very similar to the lycastes. Now you remind me of my lycaste. I also have one monster lycaste and from the look of it, it might bloom soon as well if I don't kill it for space. (E-Veal me again huh?) Post pictures of your lycaste, I bet they will be droolworthy!
I want to include the pictures of other orchids in this thread to spice it up. Besides, I am tired of posting in other threads of mine, why not combining everything together and save me lot of troubles? Hehheee... Lazy me ...

    Hi Diane,
Thanks! And the paph, well do we want another paph guessing game?

    Hi Jason,

Thanks again, man! Are you sure you want to another paph guessing game? However, if you are so inclined, I am game too. Feel free to give it a shot. We can do it in the open posting. My mail box is so full!!!

    Cheers. Hoa.

    Hi Lynda, aka Mehera,
Thanks for the welcome "back". I am still pressed for time but things are certainly better and surely, I might be able to hang around here more often!!! I could see that you have graduated into the senior rank, are trying hard to crack that 1000s posts milestone, and are giving out expert's orchid advices to the newbies! Great! And your arts are quite something too! Lot of talents around here!

    Hi Bruce,
Thanks and congrats on your book. I followed your link and had a peek at the book. Beautiful indeed. I am glad that I gave you some of my best pictures. I am certainly looking forward to getting the book and sharing it with my many friends.

    Cheers. Hoa.

All right, Doc Spock! I'll take the bait...

Is it a primary cross between two Cochlos? The slightly downward sweep of the petals is a tease towards a Coryo, but I'm not buying it. The dorsal coloration, the pouch shape and the staminode all shout Cochlo.

I'm gonna have to go cochlo x hirsutissimum (or esquirolei), maybe for starters glaucophyllum x hirsutissimum?

Gee, the paph heads are very good at this game, huh? And Jason, you are amazing!

I got this paph from a member of our orchid society and the tag says Paph. hirsutissimum. But I can tell you this, the woman that I got it from is not exactly a species nuts so she might have missed a few things. The flower does not look exactly like hirsutissimum. But it clearly has at a lot of hirsutissimum in it. Most likely a cross. And the other parent appears to be a cochlo. So what is it? Well, I found a picture on the web, looking almost exactly like that and the plant was glaucophyllum x hirsutissimum.
There you win again, Jason, the paph guru! And McJulie is the runner up! Julie, I know you will figure this one out in no time with your second guess after some feedback. Now you guys have it!

See, this one is way too easy. I am crossing my fingers for something much more exciting coming up. I only hope that the buds won't blast with all the cold temperatures that we are having here.

Many cheers and happy holidays to you guys!
    Hoa.

Well, I have not posted pictures here for ages. It's just that pictures of the catts in blooms already posted here. But finally we have something worth posting!

This one was posted previously but this time, it is really "Innocence". No more lipstick on the lip because of someone trying to steal a kiss! Heheheee ...
    Cheers. DocSpock.

A gorgeous and floriferous alba clone of the species! Very long lasting as well! One of the best floofs!
