    Default Laelia lundii

Tiny little Brazilian laelia species but it is so cute!!! The charm of species, that is! Not overpowering you like big floofs but they stay on with a lingering sweet taste!
First bloom for me! Sue posted it here a while back, but he is not the only one around here with "weird" stuff! Hehehe! Quite exquisite semi-alba flower! (If I can focus my camera better, I will post a better picture of this one!) Not exactly a floof but we take them all, small, big, giant, young or old or whatever! Don't you guys agree? Hehehe!

    Cheers. Hoa.

    I'd agree, Hoa...

    It's a floof wanna-be!

Gorgeous semi-alba cattleya! Large flowers and very fragrant as well!

    Cheers. Hoa.

PS. I am changing the culturing of these semi-alba catts a bit. Maybe next year, I will get more intense coloration on the lips!

I love the last one, Hoa! It's a beauty!

What culture changes do you hope will darken the lips?

Are you hoping for just more saturation of color, or a darkening of the shade of purple/red. I have seen some with deep magenta on the lip, which, with the green throat was quite stunning. Not that yours isn't beautiful as is....

I am hoping for more saturation of color as well as darker lip. I think I can do this by giving these semi-albas even more intense light and more warmth by hanging these plants so they will be closer to the roof of the greenhouse. I could burn the leaves doing this but finally I figure out the safe separation distance from the roof to the plants to accomplish this. I got a few catts growing like that and the blooms were exceptional!
And I am thinking about going for more organic fertilizers during summer feeding times. I will add some bloodmeal in addition to the fish emulsion/ Superthrive/ Miracle Growth/ Growth Enhancer combo.
    Cheers. Hoa.

Darn it, Hoa! I can resist floof and splash petals amazingly well, but I just keep coming back and looking at your photo of Lc. Midred Rives 'Orchidglade' AM/AOS. (That's an early warning sign that trouble's coming...) Then, of course I do a quick search on the Web... (stage two of the disease) and it just so happens there's a reputable nursery with a blooming size one for sale at a reasonable price. Arghhhhh! I'm trying to resist...

Sorry for the bruises, Hoa. I hope the floor was carpeted.

I had a college professor a long ways back that likened me to a natural disaster... (Stay with me here.) He said I was fasciniating to watch, but he worried that he might get hurt if he got too close.
