Cool Update: Cattleya no i.d. 'Pretty in Pink and Purple'

I have looked around on the web and on my orchid wiz program and I think I have a name for my noid. I am wondering if it is Laelia purpurata (v. sanguinea x v. flammea) 'Ching Hua'. My biggest concern is the lack of color in the throat that would normally appear on these. However, it is the closest I have come and every time I see this cross I immediately go looking for the pictures' name and it ends up being the sanguinea-flammea cross. The plant with the 'Ching Hua' name looks like it's dead on to me. I have made a tag stating it was a noid when purchased from my friend. Considering the quality of her plants I am thinking this could be it...or something else extremely similar.

The flowers are 7 inches across this time and have the most amazing scent. It has it's area filled with perfume.

I moved the plant back into the shade and it completely changed the color of the flowers. I am wondering if this plant may have a smidge of blue to it...that or it's just the way the light was hitting the flowers. Whatever...it was a cool effect.

    Connie,

I'm sorry, but I have to step in and correct you.
Definitely this plant as shown on your images isn't a Cattleya purpurata!
Definitely a hybrid with C. purpurata influence.

All darker C. purpurata's have the characteristic stripes on the inside and outside of the tube.
Further all of them show the characteristic C. purpurata stripes on the petals and normally also on the sepals.

The attached 8 images are showing 8 of my C. purpurata's with the darkest lips.
Further you can see glimpses of petals and sepals. All with the stripes, some stronger some less strong pronounced. But all of them have the stripes.
On your plant the sepals have no stripes as seen on other cattleya's like C. warscewiczii, C. trianae and C. mossiae. The petals color pattern of your plant is a mystery to me. Maybe somebody else can enlighten us from where this color pattern is coming.

Very nice flower Connie & I agree with Horst. Might say that it is a Cattleya, not a Stanhopea.
