Cool Blc. Hawaii Star 'Hsinying' and Vandacostylis #9

My Hawaii Star bloomed over a dozen flowers last year and afterwards the plant looked terrible. I cleaned it up, repotted the poor shriveled thing and set it under a bench in lower light this summer to give it a break. After a couple months it began to look a little better and this is the first blooming since. Five flowers almost perfectly spaced (with no help) on a single spike. Gorgeous as usual and hopefully by next year it will be back to speed and bloom nicely again. The second plant is the cross (Vanda (used to be Ascocenda) Memoria Thian Chai x Vascosylis Mishima Lime) #9. I have shortened it to Vandacostylis #9 until I find out what the name should be. This plant blooms about every two or three months. Never have I ever had a vanda that liked to bloom this much! And it has a faint smell of sweet lemons this time. Very nice....

My dendrobiums are going insane. I will do pictures of them together in a few days when candy stripe gets a few more buds open. I have to say they sure do bloom nice!

Lovely catt! That free flowering characteristic of your vanda must be inherited from Mishima Lime. The latter is one of he most free flowering of my vandaceous.

Very nice , always wonder if the colour of the blooms influence the character of the scent !

beautiful catt, love the vanda, my cross of this has yet to bloom and have moved it to higher light, growing like crazy but no blooms, I'd be very happy with an outcome like yours, nice work
