    Cool Vanda Memoria Lyle Swanson

This plant is a cross between Vanda Kasem Delight x Vanda tessellate. I looked up the cross and discovered it finally has a name. Mine doesn't look like the others on Orchid Wiz and it is only slightly similar (in spite of being a mericlone) to the parent plant. The parent has much darker coloring, with pink/red being much more prominent than mine.

As I was back taking pictures and moving the vandas I found something growing on the Angraecum Sesquipedale. Not sure if it's a spike, it sort of looks more like a keikei to me so far. This one generally is a big fussbudget and I'm shocked it's doing anything other than taking up a huge amount of space. LOL

The scent on mine is very delicate and smells somewhat like a womans light perfume. And I am happy with the flower in spite of the color differences. I hope as the plant gets older the flowers will get abit larger though.

    Pretty Vanda Connie.
Angraecum is a spike & think if you look on the opposite side of the plant level with the visible spike you may find a second.

I believe this one had about 7 inch flowers, but the spur was about 11 inches long off the back. They are impressive flowers. The last time this plant bloomed was last year, the end of August. From what I understood they were supposed to bloom for Christmas. Perhaps these will take their time this year and bloom when they should.
