Two and a half years ago I started a thread entitled Unidentified Violet Vanda. Just today I accidentally stumbled upon its correct name over the internet while admiring some online orchid catalogues.
I remember posting then, asking for help on its ID, and I said that it resembled a Vanda Hilo. Well, it turns out that V. Hilo is one of its parents.
Thank you, selvi. It is quite a producer of offshoots too. I started with one plant and from that one plant I now have five mature plants.
lovely, love the color - martha
Thanks, Martha. The color and the tessellation really got me.
Very fine plush blooms. Glad this Vanda now has a known name and lineage. AL
yes Yew it is a semi-terete. i found the parentage on a reputable Thai orchid nursery website and the photos are right on target.
