    Default Dendrobium Atroviolaceum

I've had this Dendrobium for about three years and it blooms to one extent or another each year. Blooms can last up to four months. One spike this year with eight flowers on it. Three new growths coming along nicely with the future possibility of a better display next season. Hope you like. AL Name: Dendrobium Atroviolaceum 011.JPG

Such beautiful and interesting flowers. Congratulations on getting them to flower for you.

I have a Dendrobium atroviolaceum that is just starting to put up several flower spikes for the first time. I'm really excited about it.

But, I thought the flowers are fragrant. Are the plants very variable when it comes to fragrance?

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that mine will have some fragrance. That would be such a bonus to the interesting, long-lasting flowers.

Congrats, again, on the beautiful flowers.

Thanks Jessica! I personally never heard that Dendrobium atroviolaceum's were fragrant and can't detect any scent myself. I will put itb to the test though and have someone else give it a good whiff and get back to you. Several spikes sounds wonderful....................Especially considering that some people have a hard time getting this orchid to bloom. Congrats back at ya.......................AL
