Default Cattleya loddigesiii - upsetting :(

First blooming of this plant I bought in September. Sadly, you can tell by the color-break that this orchid has a virus and must be destroyed. I'm asking the vendor for a credit (sure to get one). The shape of this one is particularly nice however there is no way it got this from my collection. I use sterile cultural practices and never let plants drip on one another, share potting media and sterilize cutting tools and pots

Are you sure that it's due to virus but not others example due to chemical from fertilizers or temperature related apparently it's a nice size very beautiful. Why cant you wait another season if the character remain the same than go on.

Not sure but I might keep it and let it have one more blooming cycle just to confirm. Thanks.

I agree with Ron, you should have it tested. I think there's a good chance that it's a virus but the position of the color breaks makes it look like it could have been some kind of chemical seeping into the bud as Zainal suggested.

Definitely worthy of concern --- flower looks terrible despite nice form. As others have suggested, I would also recommend having it tested as this appearance could indeed be due to factors mentioned above.
