    Talking Dendrobium Spectabile

I had been asked to start a new thread on this dendrobium spectabile when it was in full bloom (or as full as it gets this round at least).

I bought this on-line from Hawaii and received it early in December 2013. I was rather new to orchids and orchid types. And at the time, didn't realize the size of the plant I was buying and its potential size until I saw it in person.

When first received, the plant had an immature spike formed and a 2' tall, newly grown, unopened cane.

Since then, I think it has grown well. The spike has matured and the new cane's leaves have opened. The spike has 5 buds that are now fully open. I hope the next blooming it will have many more buds.

Yes I like it your new thread...awesome.....so sad this species is not free flowering in lowland and the leaves are susceptible to get yellow patches infection.
