Beautiful hybrids. From what you have posted, it seems that kingianum has not been used enough for hybrids. The most amazing photos though are of the species. I have never seen kingianum flowered that well. Also, never saw a white one before. Thank you for sharing!!!

Actually, now I think about it, 'Hilda Poxon' is NOT a kingianum hybrid, and is in the wrong thread. Whoops.

Glad you included Hilda Poxon. It's on my want list now although I doubt that it is available in the states. All are beautiful!!!!

Wade, do you have access to tetragonum (the Spider Orchid)? You could make your own Hilda Poxon by crossing a tetragonum with a speciosum. I hope you manage to get one - they are beautiful in person.

This is another plant collected by my father many years ago. He gave me a little clump, which I brought with me when we moved.
I planted it under a tree at our new house, and it is very happy there and flowers every year.
I'm not sure whether this is Dendrobium kingianum 'alba' or whether it might be a delicatum (kingianum x speciosum)
The shape of the flowers leads me to think it might be the latter. I need an expert.

That's a great thought, Val. Both species are available here. If I make a cross I like to get the best parents that I possible can. I think I'll work on that!

Many thanks. It's very special to me, seeing as it was started by my mother all those years ago. I feel a responsibility to keep it healthy and blooming for her.
