Default Dendrobium kingianum and hybrids thereof.

I have quite a few of these native Australian orchids. So easy to grow, and the breeders here have managed to create some gorgeous blooms.

These pictures are of a wild-collected Den. kingianum. My parents loved bushwalking, and if Dad spotted a keiki on a kingy clump, he would bring it home. This one was collected on the South Coast of New South Wales, and potted up in the late 60s. This is what it looks like now. Of course it is illegal now to collect from the wild here - you have to be licensed - but back then it was allowed.

I am mindful of the request to post no more than two pictures at a time, so will wait to put photos of some of my kingianum hybrids up.

Here are a few of my Den. kingianum hybrids. I hasten to add that they are not my breeding, but purchased from sale tables at club meetings, orchid shows, and online.

i really love the last one. we can find a lot of d. kingianum here, but not so many hybrids. and even the kingy's are expensive, for something that has almost as many keikis as flowers. if i live in australia, i'd be a lawbreaker.

Awesome display by your kingianum. Beautiful hybrids - not many kingianum hybrids seen here and I have only one in my collection.

Dendrobium Gilleston Jazz. I love the dark red of this one, and it came from a nursery in northern New South Wales

I adore this one. Dendrobium Australian Artist 2. The soft cream and pink appeals to me.
This one came from the same nursery as Flinders.

I'll resize some more. They are going into their resting phase now, and will start to bloom around late July and go through to around October, depending on the plant.
