I just purchased a "Dendrobium Amabile" in bloom.
any Pointers for care to this specie?

The seller informed me that it need to have a "dry spell/season" to induce flowering is it true?

and that this specie is very slow to grow and have keiki.

Love the flower and the lavender color. But the plant looks dry to me.

yeah it looks very dry. the seller said he had to put it on a "dry spell" to induce flowering.

But after I bought it, I immediately put some Sphagnum moss on it...hehehe

any pointers on how to take care of this kind of specie?

through my research, it states that it HATES being repotted. so I'm a bit adamant on it.

But from it looks, it badly needs a repotting!

Keep it on the dry side until new growths are a couple inches tall. You should be seeing roots by then. After that, keep it moist and start fertilizer. It can take Cattleya light or a little more. In fall stop fertilizing, allow the temperature to drop around 60F (15C) nights, and reduce watering. Some don't water at all.. some mist.. I usually water lightly if the canes start to shrivel more than a little. In the winter it continues to need fairly bright light. Hope that helps.
