IOPSE says both are synonyms. One of the books I have says It belongs to section platycaulon but IOPSE mentions as Calcarifera. any ideas or reclassification?

you are right, there is some confusion, regarding, Dendr. platycaulon and platygastrium. Until now, my understanding is, that, Dendr. platycaulon, belong to section Platycaulon and is endemic to Philippimes (Jim Cootes). Dendr. platygastrium, belong to the section Pedilonum (Andre Schuiteman) and is native to New Guinea. Both of them have flattened bulbs, the flowers are very similar and for me only diffrent is the colouration of the lip.
