    Default Dendrobium Frosty Dawn Yen

I find Den.s are hard to flower. The ones that do flower only have one or two blooms. Hope to do better next year.Name: IMG_1189.jpg

The opposite is true here ...... most dendrobiums are easy to grow and bloom here. Actually dendrobiums and arandas and mokaras are grown here for the cut flower trade. Den Frosty Dawn and other dendrobiums of the Formosae tribe are more difficult and it is the consensus here among hobbyists that they are rather short-lived; however the flowers last for months thus earning them the name 'Everlasting Orchids'. You have a a lovely clone of Frosty Dawn and hope you'll be rewarded with more flowers atr the next bloming.

Beautiful bloom. I have the same plant and grow in an eastern facing window... 2-4 hours direct light in the morning, indirect light the rest of the day. Has bloomed three separate times in the last year with either 2 or 4 blooms. Blooms lasted 8+ weeks and have the fragrance of "root beer". One of my favorites in my small collection.

To me even one or two blooms on an orchid is a success. Given time I'm sure you'll get this Dendrobium to give you more flowers. What you have posted is lovely. AL
