    Default Cattleya violacea

I can't take credit for this bloom as I just purchased this orchid at the orchid show in town. The scent is very interesting -- nice but at the same time kind of skunky. Really beautiful flower though and I've been wanting this plant for a while now. The plant is mounted on a tree fern plaque.

one of my favourite species.....ive actually wanted a violacea for some time too....i have had friends go to Guyana to purchase them which are definitely wild collected plants....i heard there are entire trees covered with them by the mile....its a very large forested place of unimaginable beaty......
