    Default Dendrobium unicum

So I got this little guy last year in bud and the flowers were really vibrant and cool. It rebloomed this year even better and I'm excited for this to turn into a specimen plant and grow out of it's coconut pot. As you can clearly see this plant should be grown pendant as these blooms are upside down!

Why is it in a coconut pot? I mean, it looks nice in it, but would it get any drainage in there?

It's in a coconut pot because I don't often use plastic pots and I didn't have a suitable basket/mount/clay pot on hand. The pot has drainage holes and it's fairly rot resistant. It also holds moisture and the plants can attach to the inside and outside of the pot. I fill them with tree fern fiber. Below is a pic where you can see roots attaching. I'm hoping the plants will eventually cover the entire outside of these. I've got a D. nobile, D. unicum, and this D. anosmum/superbum in them.

I see what you mean, and I now really like your original idea! The coconuts add to the 'rainforest' or 'natural' effect.

the flower always blooms upside down with this species, no matter how you grow it. Non-resupination is normal in this species
