    i've bought this Vanda as a spec. from Sumatra, but I think it's a Vanda limbata.
    Zainal, am'i correct?

    beautiful color, limbata is supposed to have a cinnamon fragrance if that helps

    i can't tell the difference between vanda limbata sumatra, flores or jawa/java ,.. looks the same to me,..
    but they have different prices,.. flores is more expensive

    Hi Mietek first of all congrats you have very beautiful Vanda though you got it from the Sumatera but the plant basically from the Nusa Tenggara East Java that is very beautiful Vanda Lombokensis or people also called as vanda flores.

    BTW they are so many color variations of this species as I have almost maroon color.

    Ha ha when you talk flores limbata with all red color and pinkish lip now that plant already classified as a new species....Vanda perflexa. I agreed with very very expensive.

    explained by zainal,.. have no idea about exact history,. but vendors here sells them like that, by the island or origin,... if it's the same species, no wonder la no difference...

    this is very confusing,... nusa tenggara , java, and lombok,.. 3 completly different islands,...

    this is what my vendor sells as vanda limbata flores,.. price about 5-6 usd ... the non-flores is 3usd ,.. and all has the ones with brown color.

    Zainal, thanks a lot for ID, that make me happy, because it's more seldom then Vanda limbata. I have another V. limbata, but until now no flowers.
