    Cool Eplc. Dale Farlow

This plant is very tall and I had been having issues with it until I sat it in a basket and put it in the vanda section. To my surprise it threw out a spike and so far this is the only flower to open of the four buds. I was surprised with the size of the lip. I bought this as a section at last years flower show and didn't know what it would look like. I got lucky...

...this last flower is a tagless cattleya. I need to go through my purchase invoices and figure it out. This one is just too nice to not have a tag.

Good eye. One parent is C. Amber Glow, a typical yellow with red lip Catt hybrid (very much like the no name pictured) that is mostly descended from C. dowiana, with a little C. tenebrosa and a few others in lesser amounts. The other parent is Encyclia correllii, a species rarely seen, can't even find a good picture.

It does have very nice shape and color for the type. By current naming standards it is Catcylia Dale Farlow.
