    Default Cattleya species ID?

Got this from a vendor as Cattleya bowringiana but pictures don't match and i discussed with vendor that bowringiana is a bifoliate and this is unifoliate but vendor says it is still bowringiana. any pointers on ID would be great.

It was raining when I took the picture.

Your vendor does not know his business; that is very clearly NOT a c. bowringiana. As far as species go, I can't recall any catt species with a color pattern like that on the lip, either. I suspect it is a cross of some sort.

A hybrid, looks like it has some bowringiana in it, but also shows a lot of influence of a big labiata Catt or Lc. type. Could be as simple as a classic primary hybrid like Portia or Ariel, but probably more complex if it shows no bifoliate tendency. No way to be sure if the vendor can't be more helpful.

    I agree, a bowringiana hybrid.
