    Smile Den normanbyense

This is a small dendrobium that lives in my 20 gallon orchidarium. It came to live with me in early July 2014. The orchid seems to love it even though it stays wet a lot. It has grown 2 spikes with single buds on each coming from the top of older canes. One is in full bloom. Hopefully, it will continue to spike and spike on more canes.

It's current name, as a separate species, is Den normanbyense but was only recently designated as its own species. It was known as Den atroviolaceum var pygmy. Something different is that the spots are on the outside of the petals and sepals.
