I am blooming this for the first time. I have never heard of this variety of kingianum before but it seems to bloom very easily. Has the same sharp fragrance of kingianum and the flower segments look right although it's a bit bigger than most kingianums that I've grown. Flower natural spread is a bit over 1.5" (4cm).

    Pretty!

Is that one of the Austrailian Dens?

The one I bought now has a new growth. Hoping it will bloom this year.

Harvey, it is reported to be a variety of Den. kingianum. Kingianum is an Australian Dendrobium and has been used many times in the current "Aussy" hybrids. Although the shape is the same as the normal kingianum, this seems to be a better bloomer.

Lovely. Would this require winter rest?

Yes, it does need a winter rest. Drier with temps down to at least 60F (15C) or lower.

My Den kingianum got a winters rest. I hope it flowers well for me! No buds showing yet.
