anyhoo, it sure is a reliable little bloomer

forgive the sunscorch on the older leaves, we lost all the natural shade over the glasshouse due to hurricane damage last summer.

    Hi Ellie,

You can cut yourself some slack! First, it's not easy! If you're reading my rants and trying to sort out your tags, then consider yourself ROYALTY! The topic isn't an easy one.

One of the biggest hinderances in understanding all this gobbledegook that's a highly technical term is that the troglodytes that make up many of these orchid tags don't know their sepal from their stamen! That was an insult of rather vulgar proportions.

Your tender plant should be labeled LC or Lc Trick or Treat. That's the name of the grex. There are a number of clonal varieties, but this isn't one of them. Trick or Treat should not be in single quotes. That's wrong. The "x self" bit merely means that Trick or Treat was both pod and pollen parent. This guy was raised from a seedling and not cloned, hence no clonal variety.

So you have an SC or Sc (SophrantoCattleya) Trick or Treat. And it's a beauty!
