An interesting species, coming from some Pacific Islands - the Solomons, Vanatua etc . Said to grow into large specimens - my plant is free with keikis but these have few roots , so I imagine that they stay on the parent and help to build up to make a big bush. Few flowered, only on the older leafless canes. Of course I grow it for the unusual colour of the flowers.
Jay says flowers between ½ inch and 1 ¼ inch - mine are about 3/4inch.
My Orchid Society had an interesting talk from a guy who grows the UK National Collection of Dendrobiums ( at Edinburgh - Scotland - RBG ) and he was very good on the subject of keikis. They are not proof of poor culture ( he says) - but quite natural, and one way of the plant spreading, when they fall off, blow about, and then root. So I am not such a bad grower after all.

    That is a cool dendrobium!

I had keikis on my den nobile that had no roots when it went into winter's cool, dry rest. The 2 keikis grew roots during the dry rest. After harvesting them in the spring, I sent them to BD to help replenish the gh.

Interesting species! Unique color also. I am suspecting that it is a warm grower since it comes from the islands.
