Default Eplc Mae Bly 'Ching Hua Splash'

My tag still reads Eplc Mae Bly 'Ching Hua Splash' but with with the taxonomic changes to the cattleya family it might not be an Epilaeliacattleya any more. I don't think I have posted pictures of this variety before as all previous flowerings have produced slightly deformed flowers in the semi-peloric lateral petals. I had thought that this was a genetic fault, but this time around the blooms are normal - might be the due to more conducive weather conditions - and this has saved it from the compost heap.

I think you're right Roy. This might not be Mae Bly 'Ching Hua Splash'. I bought it 3 years ago from a vendor who imported the seedling from Taiwan. I told him it was totally different from the Mae Bly I had and he assured me that this was the Ching Hua clone. Seems like I've been had.Apologies to all members for tje wrong ID.

Yea, who cares about a name, it's the beauty of the orchid that matters! I am glad it did not go to the compost heap.
